my spending ban/project pan update

Hey guys!

If you're a  regular reader of my blog, you may remember that for the month of April I was on a spending ban on ALL makeup items! I wrote about it here, and basically decided that with that, I would also be trying to finish off some select products because, let's face it - I have way more make up than I'll ever need. Plus it means more room for new products..

This will just be a super quick post updating you all on how my spending ban went and if I managed to make the challenge of finishing some of my products.

Did I break my ban? Um, yes.. A little. But considering the amount of money I usually spend on cosmetics during the month, I only brought two lipsticks and five nail polishes. All drugstore. Can I get a clap? That's a pretty solid effort, if I do say so myself.

Did I save money? Not as much as I would've liked - but then again, I do have other expenses along with my make up addiction. But I did save more in the month of April than I usually would on a monthly basis.

Would I do it again? Honestly, probably not. All the pent up non-buying makeup energy just unleashed itself as soon as April ended. So although I did save a little money, for me it might just be better to cut back rather than quit cold turkey for a month. Maybe even allocate a budget!

Did I actually use any products up? Yes I did! And even if I didn't use it all up, I definitely made some serious dents in the other products. I definitely tried to use all of the products on a daily basis, but I would be lying if I said I used them every single. Bit much to completely commit to certain products when already on a spending ban.

Here are the products I managed to use up during my time:

Bourjois Happy Light Luminous Primer

Maybelline Age Rewind in Light/Fair

Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara

So, all in all, after doing my first ever spending ban on make up, I don't think that I would ever do one again. I think the best thing for me personally would be to actually set myself a budget each time I am paid and stick to that. That means that I am not overspending or using any money unwisely - but, I am also saving money and making sure the money I do have goes to products I actually want.

And that's it for todays post! I have a lot of packages on the way from after my makeup ban, so keep an eye out for a haul post in the near future

Until next time...
